John's Boys GoBags

Launched in 2019, our GoBags have necessities and age-appropriate comfort items for children already in and entering the foster system such as blankets, books, and stuffed animals. With our recent partnering with BCS Together, we are also excited to expand the GoBags to children in kinship placements for families in crisis! The bags also include contacts/resources for medical needs along with a small gift card which allows the parent or guardian to obtain items needed immediately for the child, frequently shoes, coats, and clothing essentials.

We have worked this year to reduce the costs associated with creating each bag and have developed several wonderful relationships with wholesale vendors around the country who share our mission.

Our goal is to supply each child who enters foster care in the Brazos Valley with a GoBag; in 2018, that number was 351 children.
